Eight Weeks After Surgery

Eight weeks after surgery and I have finally got some of my range of motion back. Physical therapy has been great in helping me improve through stretching and movement. As the pictures show, my range is still limited but I am able to move my arm on its own now with minimal assistance. Recovery is progressing a little faster then I had thought it might. There is still some discomfort with some movements and a little soreness when trying to sleep and waking up in the morning. I have lost some of that belly from two weeks ago through cardio exercise.

The pictures below indicate how just a few weeks can make a difference in what goals you are trying reach. The first picture is at a rest position. The second shows the maximum height I can reach with the lateral raise, and the last picture shows the maximum height I have reached in the frontal raise. I think this is good progress since just a few weeks ago I couldn’t move my arm at all.
