Six Weeks After Surgery

Six weeks after surgery and I have finally got the sling removed and started are more serious physical therapy routine. This is the beginning of my journey to reach the level of fitness I was at before my injury. Recovery is going well and progressing along. Right now it is getting the range of motion back under my arms own body weight. There is still some constant irritation and soreness now that the sling is off but that seems to be normal for the injury sustained and the recovery process.

The pictures below indicate how just a few weeks can seriously affect your wellbeing. The first picture shows quite a bit of muscle mass that was lost from not being able to move or exercise my arm. The second picture shows that just a few weeks can add ten pounds to you if you’re not actively watching your diet and exercising regularly.

So join me as I explore the ups and downs of the recovery process from shoulder surgery.
